State-of-the-art manufacturing systems – efficient processes

Custom designed solutions, production-ready processes, state-of-the-art machinery: with our engineering centre in Switzerland and manufacturing facilities in the USA, the Czech Republic and the Ukraine, Daetwyler Rubber is able to offer superior quality solutions on globally competitive terms. Materials made in Switzerland, Swiss specialists present on-site, proven production and know-how transfer processes and a standardised machine concept all combine to ensure a consistently high standard of quality wherever we make our products. At our Schattdorf facility in Switzerland, all of the equipment for producing mouldings was replaced with new state-of-the-art machinery after the flood in 2005.

High level of automation

To maximise our productivity and competitiveness, we automate our production processes where possible and practical. The equipment used for this ranges from automatic feeding, loading and material removal robots to the latest automated vision inspection devices with integrated camera systems.

Manufacturing of mouldings

We manufacture mouldings applying compression and transfer processes or injection and injection-transfer processes with cold runner and cold pot technology. Daetwyler Rubber masters a variety of sophisticated techniques and technologies for pretreating plastic and metal parts. One example is plasma technology, which makes it possible to form stable bonds between plastic parts and rubber without using adhesives.

Manufacturing of seals and gaskets

For producing seals and gaskets, we have a salt bath, UHF and silicone hot-air extrusion lines. Daetwyler Rubber is not only proficient in mono-extrusion, but also has leading co-extrusion expertise. With this process, profiles for seals and gaskets are co-extruded in one operation, using two different compounds from two extruders, and vulcanised together. Gasket frames for tunnel applications are made in a patented process on special frame vulcanising presses.
